Bang the Drum All Day

Got a couple of pictures of the kids playing the drums at church. They keep a set in the gym for the Youth. Juniper and Keaton are naturals!

Me and Jesus

We had a Kids Festival at Church. It ran from a Sunday night through a Wednesday night. There were a lot of activities for everyone. Lots of great pics, but these are just a couple. The kids at our church really have a heart for Jesus. It's amazing!

Movie Star

Keaton went to his first movie today! Jordan and Evie are in town so we got Juniper out of school early to go to the movies. We went to see Despicable Me. Keaton's eyes and mouth were wide open when he saw the huge screen. They got even bigger when he turned around and saw the stadium seating. He did really well. An hour into it, he needed to use the restroom. He got a tiny bit antsy after that but it wasn't too bad.

Did I mention the movie was good?

Happy Family

Tonight we had a designated family night. The kids helped us make pasta salad and hot dogs. They even wore their new, adorable aprons I got at the Dollar Store a few weeks ago. After dinner, it was Wii Bowling and Boxing. It was a blast and much needed!

Fire It Up

During our summer break from MOPS, we've been having playdates a few times a month. Last week, we visited a Fire Department in Cary. One of the moms, Karri, even got to dress up in full uniform. All 40 pounds of it! Of course, the fire truck was a big hit.

Garden Party

We finally have a cucumber from our garden!! This is the very first veggie we've ever been able to eat that was grown in our own backyard. We are all very excited and can't wait to eat it!

Ben 10

Keaton's new passion is Ben 10. I bought a white T-shirt for $1 and used my clothing paint to make him his own Ben 10 shirt. He was so excited! I'm pretty sure this will also be his Halloween costume.

Diving for Hearts

Juniper went to a pool party last weekend. Their diving board was a big hit. Caught this great action shot!

Games People Play

Went to an estate sale with my dad a few weeks ago and found a gorgeous wooden chess set for $10. Juniper and David play it often and we've been wanting to get a nicer (not plastic) chess set. I'm sure Keaton will be playing with them soon.

Back to School

Juniper started her first day of 2nd grade today. She was so excited this morning and said she had a great first day. Hard to believe a year from now, Keaton will be getting on the bus with her!

Love Me Tender

All year, David has been teaching the Tender Paws class at church. Their last day was June 13th, but we had their end of year party today. We had a BBQ at our house. Each boy got a plaque containing the badges of each unit they completed. Keaton was so excited to get his!

The Family and the Fishing Net

After filling up our pom-pom jar (for good behavior), the kids chose to go fishing at Bass Lake. They have something like a library card, but for fishing poles. Bait is $3. Great deal and lots of fun. It was really hot and we didn't catch anything, but it was so awesome to spend the time together.

Kung Fu Fighting

Keaton and Juniper were invited to go to a Tae Kwon Do class with their two friends, Evan & Owen. Both kids did well, though Juniper was more attentive than Keaton. It was fun to watch and we were glad they invited us.

Jesus Loves the Little Children

Juniper finished up her first year of Prims class at church yesterday. She'll take the summer off and start again in the Fall. This year, she's memorized scripture and the books of the bible. Yes, she can recite them in order. We're so proud of her!

Vacation

We made it to Corolla, NC! The trip here was not that bad. Playing for an hour in the pool before dinner was totally worth it! More fun ahead!

From the Beginning

I've enjoyed my Junebug Love Dare blog so much, I thought I'd start one for our family. It took me a while to come up with a cute title and it got me thinking about what the four of us all enjoyed. MUSIC!! So, every new post title will also be a song title. Fun, yet challenging!

Birthday Boy

Keaton's 4th birthday landed on a Thursday (may 13th), so his bowling party wasn't until the following Saturday. He did get cake and presents on his actual birthday though. Ben 10 is now another collection started in our house. Though it still pales against his impressive Matchbox cars collection!
